26th Annual
FOURTH OF JULY PARADE
Blacksburg, Virginia
- The Mount Tabor Ruritan Club is sponsoring the Twenty-fourth Annual Blacksburg 4th
of July Parade.
- The theme is ‘OUR UNITED STATES — ONE NATION’.
- We invite you to join us with your floats, marching units, antique cars,
race cars, horse units, fire engines, scouting units, bands, sports teams,
etc.
Schedule:
- July 4th,
2011, beginning promptly at
2:00 PM.
Route:
- Significant change for 2011 due to North Main Street construction. (Click for map.)
- Beginning on Eheart Street at Old Blacksburg Middle School,
- Parking Lot at the corner of College
Avenue and Otey Street near Squires.
- Blacksburg Transit will have shuttle
buses available to return marchers to the Middle School.
Check-In and Line-up:
- 1:30 PM — Line up on Eheart Street. (Click for map.)
- Line-up position will be e-mailed to participants a few days before the parade.
- Ruritan Club members will be on hand on Eheart Street to assist with line-up.

Float Limitations:
- No more than 13 feet high.
- Candy may be passed out, but MUST NOT BE THROWN FROM VEHICLES
- This is a safety related issue.

This is so kids don’t run into the street near vehicle
wheels to pick up candy.

Vehicles must travel at parade speed and not accelerate
towards spectators.
Trophies will be awarded for
