This apple butter is made from local apples using a special
recipe we have used for over thirty years. Club members and other volunteers do
all the work of coring, quartering, washing, steaming and straining the apples, then cooking, seasoning and canning the
apple butter
at the Community
Cannery in Riner, VA.
Well over 1,000 glass jar quarts of apple butter are made each
year in September and October.
All profits from this major fund raiser are used for the
Community Service projects this club
completes each year.
